Disability Employment Services (DES)

Through Project Employment, DSDS delivers Disability Employment Services (DES) to people with disability living within the greater Darwin area. DES services are delivered via two programs designed to meet the specific needs of individual jobseekers:

  • Disability Management Service (DMS) – Disability Management Service for job seekers with disability, injury or health condition who require the assistance of a disability employment service but are not expected to need long-term support in the workplace.
  • Employment Support Services (ESS) – for job seekers with permanent disability and with an assessed need for more long-term, regular support in the workplace.

Both DMS and ESS programs are funded by the Commonwealth Department of Social Services.

Remote Services

DSDS Remote Services  specialises in the provision of capacity building training and support to indigenous Remote Jobs and Communities Program (RJCP) providers.  After many years delivering employment services in remote areas of the NT we now use that expertise to support local indigenous providers to deliver services in their own communities.

Remote Services are currently working in collaboration with another organisation to deliver a range of training in NE Arnhemland.

Emergency Relief Funds

The Emergency Relief Funds (ERF) program, funded by the Commonwealth Department of Social Services provides emergency assistance on a case by case basis for people in crisis situations. Assistance available includes food vouchers, payment coontribution towards electricity, telephone accounts or other utilities account held by the account holder, emergency short term accommodation and other assistance as requested by individuals.
